You will be picked up early from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and drive northward toward Murchison Falls National Park. En route, you can opt to visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a walking safari to see the endangered white rhinos—a conservation success story.
Continue your journey to Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park. Upon arrival, take a short hike to the top of the falls, where the Nile River violently funnels through a 7-meter gap and plunges 45 meters, creating a powerful roar and mist—an unforgettable sight.

Boat cruise on the Nile to the base of the falls
Rise early for a morning game drive on the northern side of the park. This area is teeming with wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Jackson’s hartebeests, bushbucks, Ugandan kobs, and oribi. Your guide will help you spot and identify animals and birds in this vast savannah landscape.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Nile River, one of the highlights of this safari. The cruise takes you upstream toward the base of Murchison Falls, offering excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of birds including African fish eagles and kingfishers.

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and drive south to Kibale Forest National Park, passing through lush green countryside, small towns, and traditional homesteads. You’ll enjoy incredible views of tea plantations, crater lakes, and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening and check into your lodge. Relax and prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee tracking adventure.

Community-led Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee tracking trek in Kibale Forest, home to over 1,500 chimpanzees and 12 other primate species. With a ranger guide, you’ll trek through the rainforest listening for the calls of chimps and observing them as they feed, groom, and play.
Tracking usually lasts 2–5 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located.
In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project known for its rich biodiversity. Look out for monkeys, butterflies, and over 200 species of birds, including the rare Great Blue Turaco.

Arrive in the late afternoon or evening. Your guide will drop you at the airport for your flight or your hotel, marking the end of this memorable safari.
